Grading PolicyDrama follows the TCEA grading scales. All policies are posted on the TCEA Arts Main Site.
Final Grades are based on: 50% Projects - the development of skills based on NC standards for Theatre Arts, graded according to Mrs. Nelson's Performance Rubric 20% Performances - "exams" graded according to the Performance Rubric. 15% Growth - measured by weekly assignments/activities designed to develop skills in performance, analysis, and understanding of theatre as an art form 15% Participation - daily participation, audience etiquette, and citizenship Progress Reports are not weighted. |
Drama StandardsPhysical Expression
Vocal Expression Analysis of literary texts and performances Understanding of technical theatre components (costumes, props, performance spaces, etc.) Analysis of the cultural, social, and historical implications of theatre Understanding of the traditions, roles, and conventions of theatre Performance RubricEach performance is graded according to these four components, all of which receive equal weight:
1. Physical Expression 2. Vocal Expression 3. Focus 4. Audience Etiquette |
